After the miraculous multiplication of the loaves, Jesus sent His apostles to the other side of the lake and went to the mountains to pray.
During this time, the apostles who sailed the boat, were terrorized by the powerful raging storm, even though they were highly experienced fishermen, but in the sight of this raging element they were scared. On top of all this, they saw a ghost coming in their direction. It was Jesus, but they did not recognize Him until the storm died down and He got into the boat.
"Lord save me," turned out to be some magical words, because after that the apostles experienced peace, as the danger receded and around them silence reigned.
The world of God is a world of silence. A world in which man will always be safe under the conditions that God full fills this world completely.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult for us to move into this world. You can even say that the reality in this world and in this time simply does not exist.
Why is it that this is hard for us to find the peace of God in this world?
First, the world never looks for silence, because silence will always reveal the inner emptiness of man. This manifests a lack of real meaning of life.
Second, this world will lightly pursue an emptiness so that we are like everyone else, and that we do not go against the current.
As people of faith, we must rediscover the value of silence and contemplation, because silence is the kindness and tenderness of God. Silence is also a moment in which we can look straight into the face of God.
