In life we have moments when we stop and think about how everything we are doing makes sense. About the happiness and struggles in our lives. What should we do always thinking about our relationship with God.
No doubt we need these deliberations to find out that everything passes and we will not be here in this world for eternity. We need this "lay over" to see that everything that surrounds us and passes makes sense, because God is waiting for us to share His eternity with us.
Today's feast, The Exaltation of the Cross, is a reminder as to what happened 2000 yrs ago in Golgotha. This event was announced by Jesus, " so must the son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life."
In human history, there was a moment when man brought on to himself all kinds of unhappiness. These first people stopped trusting God and so into the world came sickness, struggles, suffering and death and the hands of man remained helpless. But also in human history, there was a moment when other men, by the Cross, showed God boundless love and trustworthiness and redeemed our disobedience. From this moment, the Cross became not only a sign of torment and salvation, but first of all a sign of Reconciliation with God the Father. The Cross also became the sign of love a love without boundaries. From this moment, the Cross also became the way to the goal, which is always for us - God.
The Cross also becomes like a moment in which we can stop our life to see that everything passes to finally meet with God. So the Cross is for us a huge blessing. John Paul II said that "the Cross is Gods deepest inclination over men".
So, find time to take a moment to see our life. To see how many times God is very close to us in our Cross, which is suffering and all kinds of pain.
