Unity is so lacking in today's world.
We could do much more if we could remove divisions from our lives that are causing a lack of love. Often what counts is our desires and ambitions. Rather than building, we are destroying. Rather than introducing peace, we are introducing division. That is all it really is, and so we are very often lacking love.
A perfect example about unity and love, which we celebrate today, is the Holy Trinity. One God, three persons. And though really it is not import_ant to discover the secrets--certain saints tried this closer understanding using easy comparisons. St. Patrick said that the Holy Trinity is like leaves of clover which consists of three parts and yet is one leaf.
Although we have many examples or comparisons, none of these comparisons explains the mystery of the Holy Trinity.
We cannot look directly into the sun, but, we want to look for God? We can know the sun which we supposedly have "known"? And we want to know God?
Man, in his mind is not able to penetrate God, but that does not mean that posing these questions is bad. This only testifies that we are thinking of Him, and He is import_ant to us. So maybe when we are asking about this huge secret, when we are asking about His secret, we are also asking about who God is and probably from our experience, it is easier to answer by heart than by mind.
Not only is St. John calling God love, we are calling Him that too. So, for a better understanding of God, we must relate Him to the man.
Nothing but real love is a guarantee of unity. Therefore, we cannot only know God, but we have to love Him. But this love â śis not sentimental, emotional, but the love of the Father who is the source of all life, the love of the Son who died on the cross and rose, the love of the Spirit who renews man and the world,” pope Francis said.
