BAPTISM: Please note that Baptisms are not performed during Lent and/or Advent. As Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, February 26, 2020, and ends Thursday, April 9, 2020, with evening mass on Holy Thursday, please plan the baptism of your children accordingly.
THANK YOU: A huge thank you to all who donated flowers for our Christmas masses. Thank you to all those who so kindly gave their time to set-up and decorate the gym for the Christmas season; and to all those who helped take down chairs and the Christmas display and haul the decorations back to the church hall. TRAVEL VOUCHER RAFFLE: Please note that the Travel Voucher Raffle draw is getting close. The winning tickets will be drawn after mass on Sunday February 9, 2020. Those of you who still have not purchased your ticket for the draw – now is your time to get in on the raffle! Also, those who still have books of tickets out for sale now is the time to put a push on getting them sold. I still have partial books in my office for sale, as well as, one full book of tickets for sale. Tickets must be turned into the parish office no later noon Friday, February 7, 2020.
TALENT SHOW: Are you a singer, a dancer, a wizard, a storyteller, a musician, or have any talent of any kind you wish to share? A Talent Show is being held Saturday, February 15, 2020, at The Ol’ Moose Hall in Innisfail, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM. To register to perform please call or text Joanne at 403-506-7884, or Jeannette at 403-872-5191. Audience admission fee is $10 (children 6 and under are free). Bring your family and friends for an afternoon of entertainment. All proceeds will go to Our Lady of Peace Church Fund.
FIRST RECONCILIATION & FIRST COMMUNION: Classes for First Reconciliation & Communion will begin after 10:30 AM mass starting February 16, 2020, with a meeting of all parents and children eligible for these sacraments. A full schedule will be available at the meeting. This meeting and all future classes will be held at St. Marguerite School. All First Communion candidates MUST attend Sunday Mass prior to their classroom training. The sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Sunday, April 26, 2020. CONFIRMATION: Confirmation this year will be celebrated with Archbishop Richard Smith on Saturday, May 9, 2020. Confirmation classes will begin after 10:30 AM mass Sunday, March 8, 2020. Classes for Confirmation will be held at St. Marguerite School. All Confirmation candidates MUST attend Sunday Mass prior to their classroom training. COME AND SEE: February 7-9, 2020, there will be a Come and See Weekend at St. Joseph's Seminary. It is a great opportunity for young men who are seriously looking to discern the priesthood to Come and See what it is all about. Please see Fr. Liju if you are interested.

- Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day! (Mary Ann - age 4)
- When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth. (Billy – age 4)
- Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs. (Chrissy – age 6)
- Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK. (Danny – age 8)
- Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and just listen! (Bobby – age 7 (WOW!))
- The best was a four-year-old child whose next-door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, Nothing, I just helped him cry!
